State of Play - The Music Manifesto's festival style conference at the Roundhouse.
January 16 & 17th 2007
The Roundhouse, London
Latest update: Full conference schedule now available to download as a pdf
The Music Manifesto invites you to join the debate at the State of Play Festival and take up the challenge to provide greater opportunities for children and young people to make music and develop their creative potential. At the heart of the Music Manifesto is a determination that everyone involved in music education should work together to achieve this goal.
The culmination of a nationwide season of on-line and live activity - which will be covered in depth here on www.musicmanifesto.co.uk and via our weekly newsletter - State of Play aims to celebrate the achievements of the music education workforce, build on the successes of the Music Manifesto so far, and call delegates and Manifesto signatories to act on the challenges we still face.
State of Play will inform, stimulate and provoke through a series of discussions, performances, workshops and debates. The Festival will focus on three key themes emerging from the Music Manifesto Report No.2, published in late 2006:
- Making every child’s music matter
- Creating a framework for provision with the child at its centre
- Using the transformative power of music-making to change lives
