Do you work with inspirational teachers? Do your kids rave about a member of staff at their school? We all know how much work teachers put in and they don't always get the credit they deserve, so take a minute or two to put that right and nominate the person you think deserves to be Teacher of the Year 2008.

The Teaching Awards set out to celebrate the best of the profession, from primary and secondary teachers to heads, governors and teaching assistants. There are 11 different categories, including the Ted Wragg Award for Lifetime Achievement, which this year was won in the East of England area by music teacher Grant Seager of Walton Community School, Peterborough. Colleagues, pupils and parents all applauded Grant's dedication to his students and to the department he ran for 30 years. "You just want to get it right for Mr Seager," said one student. High praise indeed.

Know someone who deserves a gong? To find out more and make your nomination go to the Teaching Awards website. Nominations close 1 March 2008.
