Reading music at GSCE
GCSE music has been in the news after BBC Music Magazine reported that it was possible to gain a Grade A without being able to read music.

What do you think? Is the report realistic? Have they missed the point? Is the current syllabus problematic? Do we need to prioritise notation?

Reading music is the same as reading books, it is still literacy. I make a priority of teaching reading and writing of music always in my classes.
