Throughout State Of Play a number of Youth Music Young Ambassadors were invited to give their opinions and impressions of events.  How did they feel about the topics under discussion?  Were their needs being met?  And, critically, were they convinced anything would change?

Listen to Emma-Lou, Holly and Martha as they get behind the mic in the Roundhouse Radio Studio to interview some of the sponsors of State of Play:

- Diane Baxter          Musicians' Union
- Tom Bewick           Creative + Cultural Skills
- Sara Conway         British Music Rights
- Cliff Manning         NUMU
- Tim Riches             Synergy TV/NUMU
- Susanna Simons    BBC

Among the messages coming through loud and clear from the Young Ambassadors was the feeling that music should be taught "more flexibly", embrace more genres and allow students to "break off" and follow their own interests.  Clearly, if change does come, no one will be more happy to help promote all the "good, new stuff" State of Play promised than young people themselves.

Hear the discussion in full by clicking the link below - it runs for just under 12 minutes, with music from NUMU artists:  GKiD, Firefly and sgerson.
