Marc Jaffrey on the 21st Century music challenge
The Music Manifesto is coming of age. In October 2006, Music Manifesto Report No. 2 will be launched with a set of recommendations aimed at meeting the challenges of music education in the 21st Century. Music Manifesto Champion Marc Jaffrey believes it will give the campaign new impetus. He says he’s looking forward to the debate and the action it provokes.
Speaking at Changing Tunes, a conference held in Birmingham in July focussed on the changing nature of Music Leadership, Marc used his keynote speech to give a flavour of what's in store. His speech covered:
- Getting back to basics
- Key objectives for the next five years
- Making every child’s music matter
- Using the power of music to change lives
